General Note
A portion of a letter to Sally, written in the hand of William Wines Phelps. Written from Kirtland Mills, and dated Tuesday, 2 p.m., January 5, 1836. Tells the wives of the Elders to pray for each other and to stay faithful; the Hebrew school has commenced in "one of the attic school rooms in the Lord's house;" he has learned of the news of the death of Elder Christian Whitmer; Oliver has gone to a state convention at Columbus; "A virtuous wife should not praise other men in the absence of her husband." The bottom quarter of the last page also contains a letter from William Waterman Phelps to "Mother, brothers, and sisters."
