Scope and Contents note

This project is a collection of folklore from the people who own or interact regularly with horses. Analysis discusses how "horse people" often get together to tell stories, and how many stories have a function in teaching morals or life values. Claims that horses can be character building, offer a sense of freedom, and teach lessons. Also discusses tips on how to build a good relationship with a horse, and common elements to several horse stories. Items collected are stories collected by informants who share a love of horses. Collected by Heidi Jensen, Dr. Thursby's ENGL 356 class, Fall 2008.
