Report by Brigham Young University folklore student A. Jonathan Vance, who heard this story from his friend, Jeremy Whittaker. In the story Brigham Young intends the St. George Temple to have only one tower. During its construction he dies, and the builders put on a second tower, but shortly thereafter it is struck by lightning, so only one tower remains.
