Letter from Sophie and Oscar Elsas to Sigmund and Clara Heilner. Germany declared war against France on August 3, 1914. Beno Elsas was killed in Le Chipal on September 5, 1914, barely a month after the war began. Other family members serve. Dated March 6, 1915. Includes a translation of the letter.
