Scope and Contents

Materials include a four-part letter written by William Wines Phelps and John Corrill. It includes a letter to Margaret from John Corrill about their family business and his travel plans. There is a note from Phelps that exhorts the members in Missouri to be prayerful, humble, and watchful. A letter from Phelps to Sally reminds Sally of dreams they both had before they were baptized, where he fed sheep and she watered cattle; Phelps tells her not to forget to water the cattle while he is feeding the sheep. He also describes another dream he had where Nephi came and spoke with him. Finally the letter contains a note to "Mother and Sisters," possibly from William Waterman Phelps. There is more general information about building the Kirtland Temple and other events in town. Dated 1835.
