Scope and Contents

Diary written by Oliver Boardman Huntington between 1880 and 1882. Entries describe his daily Church and home activities. Also included are several recollections of the Prophet Joseph Smith and prophecies spoken by him during his life. Includes references to Joseph Smith, Hyrum Smith, Oliver Cowdery, Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, Wilford Woodruff, John Taylor, George Q. Cannon, Joseph Young, Zina Huntington, Eliza R. Snow, Philo Dibble, W. W. Phelps, Joseph F. Smith, Karl G. Maeser, and Abraham Smoot.

Cover made of two pieces of thin brown cardboard bound with black cloth tape. Front cover labeled "Journal of O. B. Huntington Book No. 14" in black ink. Pages made of white paper lined with horizontal blue lines for writing on and vertical red lines to mark the page's margin. The majority of the entries are made in black ink, though some are made in purple and others in blue as well. Pagination has been added to the upper outside corner of each page in pencil. Includes 217 numbered pages preceded by two and followed by three unnumbered pages (222 total pages, excluding inside covers).
