Includes description of travels to Jacksonville, Florida to attend meetings of the National Education Association, February-March 1896, whereTalmage visited many sites on his way there and back, including Independence, Missouri. Also includes a description of a brief trip to Yellowstone National Park with a group of students in August 1897. Mentions his resignation as President of University of Utah in April 1897. The majority of the latter part of the journal describes Talmages journey to Europe to attend various museum and geological society meetings, and other business, in England, Sweden, and Russia, June-September 1897.
