Abraham H. Cannon diary volume 17, 1893 January-December
Scope and Contents
On April 6, 1893, the Salt Lake City Temple is dedicated to the excitement of the local members. Abraham writes of the sacred experience he had there. The Church faces financial difficulty, as does Abraham. His wife, Sarah, gives birth to a stillborn child. The family deals with persecution and blasphemous remarks from citizens outside the Church who are against plural marriage. Abraham's notes from General Conference include prophecies and revelations given to fellow Church leaders. The bill for Utah statehood makes progress through the federal government. Dated 1893 January to December.
