James Oakey Sr. letter to James Jr. and Mary Oakey, 1868 March 20
Scope and Contents
A letter written by James Oakey Sr. from Prospect Place, Nottingham, England to his son James Oakey and his wife Mary Cooper Oakey in Paris Idaho. James Sr. expresses gladness for his son and daughter-in-law's life. He gives news of friends, his son William, and British politics. He says to tell "my grandson Thomas that I think he has forgotten that he has a grandfather living in Old Babelon..." He also lets them know that Mary has moved to Old Radford and will send a likeness of Little Lucy with some of the emigrants. Dated March 20, 1868.
