Materials include Emmeline B. Wells's handwritten diary from the year 1888. The diary describes day-to-day events and thoughts and covers a range of topics including Emmeline's work, family, Church business, and community. Her entries show her struggles with mental health, she often writes of feeling melancholy and having episodes of anxiety or sadness. It also contains information about her work on woman's suffrage; she mentions President Wilford Woodruff encouraging her to accept an invitation to join the Press Committee of the International Council of Women at Washington. The diary has a brown leather cover, but the back cover is missing. Dated 1888.
