Scope and Contents
Materials include Emmeline B. Wells's handwritten diary dated January to July 1878. The diary includes day-to-day events dealing with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Relief Society, her Utah community, work, family, and other areas of life. She writes about visiting a bishop with Eliza R. Snow to resolve disputes about some land belonging to the Relief Society. Much of her writing focuses on her work, business, and the weather. She also writes that she is trying to raise her daughters to be independent and self-sufficient so that they might be able to carry out their own plans and happiness. Dated January-July 1878.
