Letter from Leiper, written from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Kane, Fort Leavenworth, expressing his desire for Kane to visit "Buffalo country" before coming home, and stating that he gave Colonel Boon Kane's name and that Boon is a friend of Colonel Campbell's, dated July 10, 1846.
