John K. Kane and Jane Duval Leiper Kane letter to Elisha Kent Kane, 1835 June 16
Scope and Contents
Letter from Jane Duval Leiper Kane and John K. Kane to their son Elisha Kent Kane with another note from Jane to her sister, Helen Leiper Patterson. The letter is damaged with some text missing, but it says that Jane has arrived in Washington D.C. and they've paid a visit to Andrew Jackson and his family. Elisha's parents ask about his health, update him on current events, and talk about his return home. Dated June 16, 1835.
