Contains correspondence for and from Mack Wilberg. Letters include notes from students and former students. There are many thank you notes from fans and performance audience members. Correspondence is professional as well as personal. Included are birthday and other greeting cards. Some letters include photographs. Dates range approximately 1984-1999.

Biographical History

From the Collection:

Dr. Mack Wilberg (born 1955) is a world renowned composer and director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Wilberg was raised in Castle Dale, Utah. He learned the piano and became a gifted clarinetist. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South Korea and was part of a missionary vocal group called New Horizons. Wilberg attend Brigham Young University and received his bachelor's degree. He received his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Southern California. He became a professor at Brigham Young University and conducted the Concert Choir and Men's Chorus. In May 1999 Wilberg was appointed to associate director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Temple Square Chorale conductor. On March 28, 2008, he was appointed director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
