Scope and Contents note

Material contains papers relating to the military service of William J. Dumas. Describes his work in the Marines and the Criminal Investigation Department until the Korean, and in a regular combat unit during the war. Contains a transcribed interview with Dumas. He describes parachuting into Seoul, Korea at the beginning of the war, being wounded twice, working with the Corsairs during combat, and capturing enemy soldiers. Contains an original and copy of an article about Dumas's participation in the battle of the Chosin Reservoir. Also contains a tribute to Dumas written by his daughter Sandy Homer, a quote by John F. Kennedy, a paper ntitled "They Did it For Me" written by Constance Glencoe in 2000 that has a section about Dumas, and an account written to Robert Freeman by Dumas in 2000 describing his military experiences. Dated 2000.
