Scope and Contents note

Materials contain a narrative by Gael Elmer detailing the mission and events leading up to Elmer becoming a German prisoner of war and details his imprisonment. Contains a photocopy of the telegram Cleah W. Bowman received in regards to the death of her son, Deveroux W. Bowman, a fellow crew member and friend of Elmer. Also contains photocopies of other correspondence received by the parents of Bowman in regards to their son's death. Contains photocopies of photos taken during the war of Elmer and other members of his flight crew. Contains photocopied information of Deveroux W. Bowman. Also contains a photocopied excerpt from Gael Elmer's war journal and other correspondence he sent. Dated 1944-1950.
