Materials include memoir of Dora Shaw. Shares her experiences as a child who lived in England when war was declared in 1939, and surviving several German bombings. Describes how her family had a small bomb shelter in their backyard, which eventually saved the lives of her mother and siblings as they hid inside during bombings. She speaks of being evacuated, and of witnessing firsthand the destruction caused by bombings. Dated before 2001.
