A study of Andrew J. Russell's photographic documentation of American history, people, geography, and events. Historians, a photographic archivist, Russell's biographer, and a park district locomotive engineer comment on his work. Also includes a demonstration of the laborious process of taking photographs in Russell's day.

The diaries contain notes and comments on business, descriptions of many journeys around the West and commentaries on the religious and social life of the period.

Collection includes photographs taken by Savage of scenic landscapes in national parks in the western United States, photographs of the Savage family, and manuscript items related to Savage. Materials date from between 1830 and 1949.
C. R. Savage scrapbook
This collection is the scrapbook of Savage. It includes newspaper clippings, copied poems and songs, a brief autobiography, correspondence, memorabilia, and other miscellaneous items including the newspaper notices of his death. It also has some press releases relating to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Contains fourteen photographs from various local photographers of Utah that were featured in the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. Some of the photographs are framed, and most are photos of landscape or scenery. Dated approximately 1961 to 1993.
William Henry Jackson journals, letters, and other material, 1866-1966
Contains serveral typescripts of journals from 1866-1867, book manuscripts, correspondence (1924-1953), news clippings (1929-1966), and mementos from Jackson's round-the-world trip for the World Transportation Commission (1894-1896).
William Henry Jackson photographs and art, 1842-1943
Contains 1082 items, almost all of which can be attributed to Jackson. Most of the items are photographs from his career between 1858-1942, with the bulk of the photographs of scenery of the Western United States and Mexico, but also includes many images from Asian and Pacific countries visited from 1894-1896 as part of the World Transportation Commission Travels. Also contains some works of art in various media by Jackson.
