Biography
John H. Walker (1889-1957) was a miner and steelworker.
John Henry Walker was born August 2, 1889 in Hawesville, Kentucky to John William Walker and Eva Mary Schafer. The Walker family was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the 1890s and in 1903 they moved to Utah to join other members of the Church. They eventually settled in Carbon County, Utah and John and his father worked as miners for the Utah Fuel Company. The family transferred to Somerset, Colorado in 1907. John married Eva Lucinda Conrad on December 20, 1909 in Delta, Colorado. They had four children together. They stayed in Somerset until 1917, when they moved to Hiawatha, Utah and John began working for the United States Steel Company. John and his family returned to Somerset until 1923, at which point they moved to Provo, Utah and John began working for the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company. John died December 2, 1957.
