He migrated to Nauvoo, Illinois, and came to Utah in 1849. He later settled in American Fork, Utah. He married Sarah E. Harrington in 1862 and died in 1901.

Harrington was born in 1848 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was a daughter of pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her family later moved to American Fork, Utah, where Sarah lived most of her life. Sarah married Edward Robinson, Jr. when she was fifteen years old. She had eight children and died in 1917.
