He migrated to Utah in 1848 and later settled in American Fork. He was a farmer and a rancher, had a large family, and died in 1906.

She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1853 and married Hans Peter Olsen in 1854. She migrated to the United States in the same year and arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah, in October 1854. Catherine later moved to American Fork, Utah, and later to Carson Valley, Nevada. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah in 1856 with the handcart companies. She later settled in American Fork, had a large family, and died in 1901.
