Biography

Clinton William Barton (1899-1976) was a Gospel scholar and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Clinton William Barton was born on June 24, 1899 to Candace Alice Anderson and Stephen Cornel Quirk Barton in Manti, Utah. He married Geneva Michaelson June 6, 1922 in Manti, Utah. Clinton was an active member of the Church and helped establish a genealogy training program for the Church, was a high priest, and the president of the Utah chapter of the American Society of Training Directors. George was also a lifelong musician and wrote an unpublished manuscript of commentary on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He died on June 15, 1976 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Handwritten and typewritten book draft. Barton planned this manuscript to be the first volume of a digest of scriptures and commentary on the Gospel of Jesus Christ in topical form. The item apparently has never been published. A note from the author dated 1968 states that the material is restricted until the manuscript is published.
