Biographical History
Alexander Neibaur (1808-1883) was a pioneer for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a dentist, and a watch-maker in Utah.
Neibaur was born January 8, 1808 in Ehrenbreitstein, Koblenz, Rhineland, Prussia, Germany. His parents were Joseph Nathan Neibaur (Neubauer) and Rebecca (Rieke) Peretz. He was married September 16, 1833 to Ellen Breakell (1811-1870), and he had fourteen children. He also married September 1, 1871 to Elizabeth Hiley (1824-1896). He emigrated to Nauvoo, Illinois in 1841; taught German and Hebrew to Joseph Smith; and moved west with the Saints, arriving at Salt Lake in 1848.
