Biographical History
Lynn McClurg (b. 1932) was an academic administrator and professor of computer science in Utah.
Lynn McClurg came to BYU in 1972 after retiring from the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Dr. McClurg obtained a BGE with a major in Labor Economics from the University of Nebraska, an MS in Systems Management from USC, and an EdD from Brigham Young University. From 1972 to 1982, Dr. McClurg served as the Associate, and later the Acting Dean of the College of Physical and Mathmatical Sciences. Beginning in 1982, Dr. McClurg served as the University Information system Advocate, and also the Assistant Administrative Vice-President for Information Systems. As the Advocate he was responsible for strategic planning and coordinating all, computing and other information system activities in both the academic and administrative areas of the University. As the Assistant VP, he was responsible for the information support activities of the University that operates revenue business within the University community (e.g., the University Press, the copy centers, Media Services, the Testing Center, and the Campus Telephone System and Data Center). In 1990, Dr. McClurg returned to teaching in the Department of Computer Science.
