Biographical History

Luman Peter Green (1887-1980) was a farmer and insurance agent in Utah.

Luman Peter Green was born in 1887 to Peter Green and Dianna Maw in Plain City, Utah. After serving as a missionary for the Church from 1908-1910 in the Southern States Mission, he got married to Veda Green and shortly afterwards became the father to future performer and "Sabbath Prelude" host Leola Merrill. As he reached adulthood, he served in multiple positions to help fund his family: from farming in Utah in the 1920s to serving as both an agent and associate manager for an Insurance Company in Utah from the 1930s-1940s. In July 9, 1980, Green passed away in his home in Layton, Utah and was buried in Farmington.
