Conan E. Mathews (1905-1972) was an art professor and academic administrator in Utah.

Mathews; born Conan Eugene Mathews in September 1905 in Providence, Utah; attended Utah State Agricultural College, and also studied under Hans Hofmann at UC Berkeley; worked at Boise (Idaho) Jr. College as Dean of the Faculty for ten years and Acting President of the college for four years; became chair of the Department of Art at Brigham Young University in 1953, and later served as Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communications from 1959 until his retirement in 1966; died October 1972)
