Biographical History
George F. Richards (1861-1950) was a prominent leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah.
George Franklin Richards was born in Farmington, Utah on February 23, 1861 to Franklin Dewey Richards and Nanny Lynn Longstroth. On March 9, 1882 he married Alice Almira Robinson, with whom he had fifteen children. After her death he married Betsy Hollings in July 20, 1947.
George F. Richards served as a member of the Quorom of the Twelve Apostles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and at the time of his death he was the President of the Twelve. During this time he also served as the presiding patriarch of the Church.
George F. Richards died on August 8, 1850 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
