Biography

Maynard Dixon was (1875-1946) was an American painter and illustrator.

Maynard Dixon was born January 24, 1875, in Fresno, California. He studied at the California School of Design in San Francisco. Maynard became a painter and illustrator in impressionism and precisionism styles. His art reflects settings from his residences in San Francisco, Mt. Carmel, Utah, and Tucson, Arizona. Maynard was married to American photographer Dorothea Lange from 1920 to 1935. Maynard died November 11, 1946.
