Biographical history

Lee Allen (1938-2016) was a military officer during the Vietnam War.

Lee Allen was born in Manila, Philippines, in 1938 to Beulah Estelle Ream and Lt. Col. Henderson Wilcox Allen. As a child, Lee spent the duration of World War II in prisoner-of-war camps with his mother and siblings. His father died in a different prisoner of war camp. Lee and his family returned to America after World War II, where he went on to earn an enlistment at Westpoint, starting a military career of over 20 years. He served as a combat arms officer, in a position with the United Nations, and was stationed in Vietnam and Syria. Lee married Silja Viinikka in 1971 and together they raised five children. Lee died in January, 2016, in Provo, Utah.
