Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was an English author and poet.

Rudyard Kipling was born December 30, 1865, in India. He became an author and poet, and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907. Kipling died in London on January 18, 1936.

Handwritten letter dated 6 Aug. 1895 and addressed to H. B. Tedrow, an autograph collector in Omaha, Nebraska. Balestier writes that Rudyard Kipling will return to Vermont in September and will only give his autograph to those who first contribute $2.50 to "The Tribune Fresh Air Fund" of New York.
