Henry Cary Bankhead (1828-1894) was an American Civil War soldier.

Henry Cary Bankhead was born on October 5, 1828 to James and Anne Pyne Bankhead in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from the US Military Academy (Westpoint) in 1850. Henry married Amelia Maria Wainwright Bankhead in 1863.He was a Captain in the 5th US infantry when the Civil War began and served as an Inspector General as well as in other staff positions during the Civil War. He retired from the Army in 1879 and died on January 9, 1894 in Bayonne, New Jersey.
