Biographical History
Dallin H. Oaks (1932- ) a native of Provo, Utah, served as president of Brigham Young University, a Utah Supreme Court justice, and apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dallin H. Oaks was born on August 12, 1932 in Provo, Utah. Dallin H. Oaks was married on June 24, 1952 to June Dixon. They had six children. June passed away in July 1998 of cancer. Oaks remarried on August 25, 2000 to Kristen Meredith McMain. Oaks graduated from Brigham Young University in 1954 with a degree in accounting. He went on to graduate from the University of Chicago Law School in 1957. He practiced law and taught law in Chicago, including working on the University of Chicago Law faculty in 1961.
He was nominated president of Brigham Young University and served from 1971 to 1980. Following his presidency he served as a justice of the Utah Supreme Court from 1980 until 1984. Upon his resignation from the Utah Supreme Court Oaks began service as an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

KBYU-TV slides of devotional addresses
Collection contains eighty-four 35 mm color slides taken by a KBYU photographer in the 1970s. Prominent people in the photographs include Dallin H. Oaks, Nelson A. Rockefeller, Paul H. Dunn, and Spencer W. Kimball. Apart from devotional pictures, there are also slides of Spencer W. Kimball's early life, including black and white slides of his family and old buildings.

Contains annual volumes of randomly organized reminiscences of his life, including childhood in Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah; scouting; family; missionary service; education and profession; the building of the Provo and Jordan River temples; and work at Brigham Young University, including interactions with Ernest L. Wilkinson and Dallin H. Oaks. Also includes addresses and poems by Lewis, an oral history, and Lewis family history. Materials dated 1944-2003 (bulk: 1988-2003).

Contains miscellaneous notes, correspondence, newspaper articles, several drafts of the book, footnotes, bibliographic notes, and photographs. Many of the items were gathered from the Hancock County courthouse. Materials were compiled between approximately 1970 and 1975 for the production of the book Carthage Conspiracy.
