Biographical History

Donna V. Burgess (1883-1959) was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah.

Donna Viola Miles was born on January 18, 1883 in Payson, Utah to William Allen Miles and Lucretia Anna Wightman. She married Ernest H. Burgess (1884-1931) on June 3, 1908 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they had children. The family lived in Roosevelt and Cedar City, Utah. After Ernest's death, Donna married William Riley Skeen on July 10, 1933 in Weber County, Utah. She died July 9, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Handwritten diary kept by Ernest Burgess and by his wife, Donna Miles Burgess. Ernest writes about his missionary experiences in Germany and about his life in Roosevelt, Utah. Donna Burgess continues the account of life in Roosevelt until 1959. Many of the entries are long and detailed, but there are many lengthy gaps in the record.
