Photocopy of a handwritten letter. Whitmer writes to a Robert Nelson affirming that he did see an angel as it states in the introduction to the Book of Mormon. Whitmer states that "the Book is true."

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 29 Aug. 1837, and addressed to the Mormon Church leaders, David Whitmer and Oliver Cowdery. Whitmer writes about the title to lands in Far West, Missouri.
