SNAC, via WWW, August 11, 2020 (William Bowker Preston born November 24, 1830 in Virginia, died August 2, 1908. Fourth presiding bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, settled in California and introduced to the Church by the Thatcher family, who were neighbors. Married Harriet Thatcher on February 24, 1858, settled in Cache, became bishop of Logan. Served a mission to Great Britain in 1866, became a member of the territorial legislative assembly (1872-1882). Findagrave, via WWW, August 11, 2020 (He married Bertha Marie Anderson in 1871).

Handwritten and printed receipts. The items record the transactions and purchases made by Preston at the Bishop's General Storehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah. Also included is a letter to Preston that was written in Bedford, Wyoming. The item is unsigned, but its salutation was "Dear Uncle."

Handwritten and typewritten letter and receipts. Preston writes to John M. Cannon, administrator of the estate of A. H. Cannon. Preston states that the account of A. H. Cannon still owes $841.98 to the Bishops' General Storehouse.
