Hilarius (Hilary) Baker (1746-1798) was the Mayor of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Hilarius (Hilary) Baker was born on February 21, 1746 in Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany. He was the mayor of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1796 until his death in 1798. Hilarius was married to Anna Maria Kreider and they had five children: Susanna, Maria, Hilary, Anna, and Eliza. Hilarius died of yellow fever during the pandemic of 1798 on September 25, 1798.

Printed, handwritten and signed indenture. This item is dated on March 8, 1797. It is a contract between George Evans and Daniel Russell regarding the transfer of tracts of land in Kentucky. Baker's signature is affixed to this document in witness to the agreement.
