William Law diary
Typewritten copy of a diary. The journal was kept from 1 Jan. to 28 June 1844 when Law was in Nauvoo, Illinois. Law writes about his excommunication from the Mormon Church, a visit from Hyrum Smith (1800-1844), and the operation of the Nauvoo Expositor newspaper. He also and gives his opinion of Joseph Smith (1805-1844) and comments on his death.

Sutcliffe Maudsley portraits
Pen-and-ink portraits of the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith (1805-1844), and his brother, Hyrum Smith (1800-1844). The items have been framed for possible display. The portraits may have been cut from something larger. The items were signed at the bottom of each picture and were dated 1844. Collection also includes digital scans of the items on compact disc.
Moore family patriarchal blessings
Three handwritten and signed patriarchal blessings of Moore family members David, Susan, and Sarah. Two blessings are dated 29 January 1844 at Nauvoo, Illinois and were signed by Hyrum Smith. The third is dated 26 January 1889 at Ogden, Utah.
Nauvoo Masonic Lodge minutes
Photocopies of handwritten minutes taken at the meetings of the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge in Nauvoo, Illinois, from October 15, 1841 to May 6, 1842. The documents include rolls of those present. The items were signed by Hyrum Smith and by the secretary, John C. Bennett. Contains two copies. Dated 1841-1842.
Dallin H. Oaks and Marvin S. Hill research files for Carthage Conspiracy
Contains miscellaneous notes, correspondence, newspaper articles, several drafts of the book, footnotes, bibliographic notes, and photographs. Many of the items were gathered from the Hancock County courthouse. Materials were compiled between approximately 1970 and 1975 for the production of the book Carthage Conspiracy.
Josiah Lambourn precipe
Handwritten and signed order dated 5 June 1845. Labourn directs the Hancock Circuit Court to subpoena prosecution witnesses for the upcoming trial of the murders of Hyrum Smith, second patriarch of the Mormon Church. The item lists the witnesses.
Sally Randall letter
Typed copy of a letter written in Nauvoo, Illinois, on July 1, 1844 and addressed to "Dear Friends." Randall writes about the murder of the first president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joseph Smith, and his brother, Hyrum.
Redd family papers
Photocopies of handwritten and typewritten materials. Most of the items were collected by the descendants of Lemuel Hardison Redd (1856-1923). Included in the collection are minutes of a Redd family meeting, a biography of Eliza M. Partridge Lyman, a list of persons buried in Bluff, Utah, from 1880 to 1951, correspondence of family members, two patriarchal blessings given by Hyrum Smith, and an essay by John Redd, a student at the Brigham Young Academy in Provo, Utah.
