Thomas Walter Brookbank reminiscences
Consists of three separate manuscripts: "Religious Experiences of Thomas Walter Brookbank," "Travels and Threads of Experience," and "A Soldier's Recollections." These autobiographies recount the author's early life and conversion to Mormonism, his experiences in the Civil War (1861-1865), life in Utah and the Mormon settlements in eastern Arizona, and missionary activities in New Mexico, Texas, Mexico, and Great Britain.
Charles Wilson Nibley certificates
Printed and signed certificates verifying that Charles Wilson Nibley was called to serve as a missionary for the Mormon Church. The items are dated 9 Oct. 1869 and 17 Oct. 1876. The items were signed by Brigham Young, George A. Smith, John Willard Young, and Daniel H. Wells.
John T. Conk letter to Brigham Young
Handwritten and signed letter, dated 8 Nov. 1867, and addressed to Brigham Young, second president of the Mormon Church. Conk writes to Young to give up the "charge" of the "lower Mill" to John W. Young.
Deseret Museum receipt book and miscellaneous correspondence
Receipt book for donations and deposits to the Deseret Museum and 20 letters and other miscellaneous items relating to museum business and acquisitions. Several of the items are written by or are about John W. Young, the museum's proprietor; Joseph L. Barfoot, the museum's curator; and James E. Talmage, a scientist and lecturer associated with the museum.

Concerns payment of debts of Joseph A. Young, John W. Young, Brigham Young, and the Utah Central Railroad, to a company in Boston which Ames represented. Ames later served as governor of Massachusetts, 1887-1890.

Handwritten and signed receipt dated 15 June 1878 for money received from John W. Young for the emigration of Allen Wakeling.
Ammon M. Tenney papers
Photocopy of typescript. Includes a number of letters written to Tenney by such people as Brigham Young (1801-1877), Wilford Woodruff (1807-1898), and John W. Young (1844-1924) concerning the purchase of land at St. Johns, Arizona, for Mormon settlement, missionary work among the Indians, and obtaining work for Mormon settlers by bidding on raliroad contracts. Some of Tenney's replies are also included. Folder also includes typescript copy of Tenney's journal for 1875-1876.

Contains letters, articles of incorporation, and other materials relating to Mormon businesses in Utah. Includes information on the Canaan Cooperative Stock Company, the United Order, the Utah Western Railway Company, and the Zion's Cooperative Mercantile Institution (ZCMI). Materials date from between 1870 and 1877.
