Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten diary covering the dates 21 June to 17 October 1865. McKenzie was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints traveling with G. J. Adams and writes of his trip from Boston to Palestine and his return to New York City. He tells about the weather, his sightseeing activities, and also includes his personal reflections. Two pamphlets. The items were originally published in 1849. The items are identical except that one is eight pages larger than the other and has additional material. Adams writes that James Jesse Strang was the true successor to the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith. Adams also presents material on the founding of that faith.
