Biographical History

Moses Thatcher (1842-1909) was an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah.

Moses Thatcher was born February 2, 1842, in Springfield, Illinois. Thatcher moved to Utah in 1847, then California in 1849 and back to Utah in 1858. He attended the University of Deseret from 1850 to 1861. Thatcher organized the Cache County Board of Trade, and directed the extension of the Utah and Northern Railway northward from Franklin, Idaho. He was an author or editorials and magazine articles and translated "Voice of Warning" into Spanish. From 1879 to 1896, he served as an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah. Thatcher died August 21, 1090, in Logan, Utah.
