Biographical History

Elizabeth Young (1833-1918) was a wife, mother and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Elizabeth Young was born on April 20, 1833 in Bristol, England to parents Issac and Anna Davis Young. She was the first wife of George B. Bailey and they married on February 10, 1853 in Bristol, England. Together they had 12 children. In 1853 they immigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah. They raised their family in Millcreek, Utah.

Elizabeth died on October 18, 1918 in Salina, Utah. She is buried in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Contains a transcription of George B. Bailey's journal which describes life in Salt Lake Valley and related problems with the United States government in 1856-1857, and gives genealogical data on the Bailey and Young families. Also included are copies of photographs of the Bailey home in Utah and the Bailey family. Materials are dated approximately 2011.
