Biography

James Vernon Armstrong (1897-1991) was a Naval veteran, salesman, father and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

James Vernon Armstrong was born on April 2, 1897 to John Graham Armstrong and Mary Ann Jane Simkins in Salt Lake City, Utah. James enlisted in the Navy during World War I, after which he became a travelling salesman for Zion's Co-operative Mercantile Institution (ZCMI) until his retirement. He married Zetha Howarth Smith on October 14, 1920 and they had three children: Dau Armstrong, James Albert Armstrong, and Richard Merrill Armstrong. James died on March 20, 1991 in Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho.
