Biography

Mary A. Boice (1821-1902) was an early member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mary Ann Barzee was born November 4, 1821 in Ellisburg, New York to James and Betsy Whitham Barzee. The family moved to Canada shortly thereafter until 1828, when they converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They immigrated to Kirtland, Ohio in 1829. Mary Ann married John Boice on May 7, 1840 in Kirtland. They would go on to have eight sons and one daughter. In 1842, they moved with the rest of the members of the Church to Nauvoo, then to Council Bluffs, then to Utah, before Mary and John Boice finally settled in Oxford, Idaho in 1865. Mary A. Boice died December 7, 1856 in Spanish Fork, Utah.
