Biography
Mons L. Smith (1895-1989) was a farmer, rancher, and mill worker in Utah and Arizona. He served in the United States Army during World War I.
Mons Larson Smith was born November 28, 1895 in Snowflake, Arizona to Silas D. and Ellen J. L. Smith. He served in World War I, participating in the Battle of the Marne and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He homesteaded in Dodge Point, near Monticello, Utah, and later served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Southern States during the 1940s. He married Cora Hawkins on May 10, 1949, in Mesa, Arizona; they had five children. He later worked in Monticello in a vanadium processing mill. He died October 15, 1989 in Monticello.
