Collection includes 44 negatives of photographs of the Farr family, including Lorin Farr, taken between the 1890s and the 1940s. Also includes photocopies of pages of a book on which these photographs appear.

Photocopy of a letter dated September 16, 1850 and addressed to Brigham Young, president of the Mormon Church, requesting advice concerning the shooting of Terikee, a Shoshoni Indian, by a Mormon. He was murdered near the city of Ogden. Also included is an autobiographical sketch dated 1860 containing information on Farr's life, occupation, and church service.

Scope and Contents

The collection primarily consists of research materials (photocopies, manuscripts, etc.) compiled by the Winslow Farr Sr. Family Organization and Amy Oaks Long to write a biography of Lorin Farr. However, two original documents, including a ledger containing family biographical information, are also included.

Scope and Contents Harold F. Nufer collection of the Lorin Farr papers, 1820-1906, includes 6 archival series. Notable items include a Nauvoo land deed signed by Joseph Smith, Lorin Farr's journal recounting the exodus from Nauvoo, and letters from the First Presidency of the LDS Church.
