Biography

Donald K. Nelson was a library director at Brigham Young University.

Donald K. Nelson was born June 27, 1915, in Cedarville, Idaho, to Guy H. and Thora Kofoed Nelson. His family eventually moved to Logan, Utah where he attended Utah State University. He married Vaudys Christensen on June 27, 1939, and after her death, married Marion Larsen Clark on May 1, 2000.

Nelson worked as the Head Librarian at the Branch Agricultural College in Cedar City, Utah, the Head Librarian later at Eastern Oregon College in LaGrande, Oregon, and then became the Assistant Director of Libraries at Brigham Young University in 1960. He served as the director of libraries from 1967 to 1980. Nelson died November 3, 2009, in Provo, Utah.
