Biographical History

Theodore Milton Wassmer (1910-2006) was an artist based in Utah.

Theodore Milton Wassmer was born on February 23, 1910 in Salt Lake City. He grew up in Utah and studied art under Florence Ware until 1942, when he served in the Army Air Corps. He married Judy Farnsworth Lund in 1945. They lived in New York, where Wassmer studied under Japanese artist Yasuo Kuniyoshi. Over 2,000 of his paintings are owned by private collectors, museums, colleges, and schools in the United States and Europe. They returned to Utah in 1985, where he sold art until his death at age 96 in Salt Lake City. His birthday, February 23rd, was declared Theodore Wassmer day by Utah Governor Jon Huntsman in 2005. He died in 2006.
