A letter by Orson Hyde, dated Springtown, May 26, 1869, concerning a republication of his 1842 pamphlet containing information about his mission to Jerusalem. Also, a list of subscribers from the Salt Lake City 9th Ward, Bishop Samuel Woolley's ward, for Hyde's pamphlet. Handwritten letter by Orson Hyde, handwritten list of subscribers by Mrs. C. E. Woolley, and photocopies of both documents.

Orson Hyde letter to Ann Eliza Hyde

Handwritten and signed letter, dated August 31, 1867, addressed to "Dear Ann Eliza," and composed in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hyde writes to his wife upon hearing of the death of their daughter, Maria Louisa. The item is thirty words long. "I shall not hear that Sweet voice lisping Pa any more." Hyde also gives instructions for the buial of Maria Louisa.

Contains various letters and papers written about the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its pioneer emigrants and immigrants. Includes information on the relationship of James Strang and Orson Hyde, as well as a copy of the Petition to the Governor of Utah to pardon various church leaders and other members being held in the Utah Penitentiary for polygamy. Materials undated, but probably written between 1878 and 1954 (when Samuel Russell was alive).
