Scope and Contents Jemison was born in Nauvoo in 1854 and lived there all her life. She and her sister had worked for Emma Smith in the Mansion House in Nauvoo. At the time of the interview Jemison and her husband lived in a house formerly owned by Lorenzo Snow, a leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). Also included is a two-page handwritten quote from "The Book of the Law" by James J. Strang.
