Scope and Contents Handwritten letters and scratch notes. The letters are addressed to Jesse Nathaniel Smith from his relatives John Henry Smith and Joseph Fielding Smith. The authors discuss the present and possibly future social and political ramifications of the Edmunds Act (1882), and the Edmunds-Tucker Act (1887) on their lifestyles as polygamous Mormons.
